If these words seem familiar, it may be because they form the title of an Emel Sayin song from the 1980s. Some readers who grew up in those years might remember how popular the song was at clubs and discos. It was one of the tracks on her Sevgisiz Yaşayamam album. It's a great song by a great artist. What's wrong with asking, "Where are you from?" It seems like a friendly question, maybe a conversation starter. Well, it's perfectly fine at a cocktail party.
